Mission

Our mission is to strengthen the position of women in the field of analytical sociology.

The Women’s Forum strives to enhance recognition of the work, perspectives, and expertise of women within the broader analytical sociology community. By establishing a network of women in analytical sociology, the Forum aims to create mentorship and internship opportunities and facilitate collaborations between junior and senior members. The Forum offers opportunities for members to connect with and support each other, discuss the visible and invisible barriers our members experience, and generally provides safe spaces for communication.

May 29, 2025 – Kick off meeting Women's Forum in Analytical Sociology

This first event kickstarted a prospective network of women in analytical sociology. The forum featured a round table session featuring Gunn Elisabeth Birkelund, Neha Gondal, and Laura Nelson, who shared their insights and experiences as scholars in the fields of Analytical Sociology, and Computational Social Science. Following the panel discussion, we had an interactive discussion that shaped the mission and activities of the Women's Forum for the upcoming years. The event was organized by Eva Vriens (CNR-ISTC), Amalia Alvarez-Benjumea (CSIC), and Selcan Mutgan (IAS).
